Holtec Decommissioning International (HDI) is currently seeking a Chemistry Lab Supervisor to join the Palisades Nuclear Plant team in Covert, MI.

JOB SUMMARY

Provides first line supervision of Holtec full time and temporary Chemistry personnel in a safe, productive manner, manages multiple and possibly conflicting priorities, and demonstrates proficiency at managing a multi-disciplined group, possibly including union and contractor oversight.


JOB DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintains an excellent understanding of the work management process.
  • Functions as a team leader. Assists in the Chemistry budget development and function within the budget.
  • Communicates with all levels of the organization, including representing the Chemistry department at all meetings.
  • Ensures assigned Chemistry tasks are performed as safely and efficiently as possible. Proposes time saving tooling and work methods. Ensures all Chemistry activities are performed within regulatory and procedural guidelines. Manages Chemistry personnel and resolves employee conflict or concerns.
  • Interfaces with other Industry sites to maximize Chemistry department bench marking. Interfaces with regulatory and industry representatives on behalf of station Chemistry related activities. Communicates technical Chemistry information, concepts, and ideas verbally and in writing.
  • Serves as a member of the Emergency Response Organization.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education required of the position:
High school diploma or equivalent work experience.

Minimum experience required of the position:
  • 4 years of nuclear power plant, chemistry, or supervisory experience.
  • 2 years of technical training and technical proficiency in the assigned area.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position:
  • 2 years of technical training and technical proficiency in the assigned area.
  • Technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operation.
  • Proficiency with current computer business applications.

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position:
  • Candidates for this position must meet requirements specified in ANSI/ANS Standards and Regulatory Guidelines. In addition, site Technical Specifications, FSAR, or procedures may contain additional requirements.
  • Candidates must meet or exceed ANSI/ANS 3.1-1978. ANSI Section 4.3.2 - Supervisors Not Requiring NRC Licenses must have: High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years of experience in craft or discipline he/she supervises.
