Job Title: Intelligence Analyst

 

Intelligence Analyst, under direction is responsible for the strategic analysis of current, evolving, and predictable crime conditions, trends, patterns, and links. Provides specific analysis related to crime type, victimology, suspect profile, risks assessment, and geographical analysis for law enforcement purposes. 

*HSI is currently hiring for evening and overnight schedules for this position.*

RESPONSIBILITIES EXAMPLES OF WORK

 

  • To provide timely and pertinent information from different sources. To apply appropriate analytical methods and techniques to identify and analyze raw information for the purpose of substantiating intelligence links, criminal patterns and/or trends and predictive analysis.
  • To use computerized analytic tools to create charts, maps, timelines, and link diagrams for the purpose of demonstrating analytical findings, including target relationships, time sequence of events, and criminal hierarchies.
  • To conduct tactical, strategic and intelligence lead policing assessment of major crime.
  • To correlate, integrate, and evaluates varying types of information from investigative and operational activities for the purpose of generating investigative leads.
  • To execute protocols in the identification and collection of notes, files, records, and other items to be analyzed and/or used for intelligence purposes.
  • To conduct assessment of archived CCTV video for evidentiary and intelligence leads.
  • To assists with special projects and public safety efforts and perform related work as desired.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Information Management Systems, Computer Science, or closely related field from an accredited college.
  • Two years of strategic and tactical intelligence analysis experience.

 

NOTE: Equivalent combinations of education and experience may also be considered.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 

  • Knowledge of intelligence techniques, operations, and analytical projects involving interrelated subject areas.
  • Knowledge of computer systems to conduct research and analyze data.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing to effectively prepare findings and create reports for command level officers and other law enforcement officials.
  • Ability to present research findings in a concise and well-organized manner.
  • Team oriented.
