JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for leading and implementing assigned radiation protection programs, including (but not limited to):   Internal/External Dosimetry, Dose assessments and source control.    

JOB DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Implement and maintain the Radiation Dosimetry Programs. Ensure individual radiation exposure is monitored and reported in accordance with station procedures and regulatory requirements. Perform external and internal dose calculations as needed. Implement area monitoring program. Perform and document technical analyses related to radiological source term to support RP programs; including dosimetry, and training. 
  • Perform and review health physics technical analyses in support of unconditional release evaluations. 
  • Interface with regulatory and industry representatives on behalf of station activities. Communicate technical information, concepts, and ideas verbally and in writing.  
  • Serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO), including maintaining the ability to respond to assigned emergency facility within the times prescribed in the Emergency Plan when on-call. 
  • Understand adverse radiological conditions on equipment and personnel performance. 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 

Minimum education required of the position:
  • B.S. Degree in Science or engineering subject, including some formal training in radiation protection, or a related technical degree. 

Minimum experience required of the position: 
  • ANSI/ANS3.1-1978 section 4.4.4 requires 5 years in applied radiation protection, at least three of which shall be in a nuclear facility dealing with radiological problems like those encountered in nuclear power plants. 
  • Experience in Sentinel programs and PADs access database.  

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position:
  • Technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operations.
  • Outstanding communication and conflict management skills.
  • Proficiency with current computer business applications. 

Any certificates, licenses, etc., required for the position: 
  • Desired: Successfully completed NRRPT or CHP certification.  

ANSI Required:
  • ANSI/ANS 3.1-1978 section 4.4.4 is required.
