Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a Payroll Specialist III to be responsible for processing biweekly payroll, reviewing and performing payroll audits, reviewing payroll and payroll reports for accuracy, as well as serving as a point of contact for questions about payment policies and procedures.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Management of all aspects of payroll processing, compliance and analysis.
  • Assists with updating payroll records by reviewing and approving changes in exemptions, direct deposit information, 401K deferrals and/or loans, deductions, and pay rate changes.
  • Works with Payroll system by directing the production and issuance of paychecks or electronic transfers to bank accounts.
  • Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.
  • Determines payroll liabilities by approving the calculation of employee federal and state income and social security taxes, and employer's social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments.
  • Assists the accounting departments with balancing the payroll accounts by resolving payroll discrepancies.
  • Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Assist with statutory state and local tax registrations.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk and hear, use a computer for communication via email or TEAMS messaging, process payroll, create reports from the payroll system, etc. The associate is required to work in an office environment and interact with co-workers and other associates related to responding to assignments, questions, or inquiries.
  • This role requires attention to detail in the performance of the duties.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 11+ years of payroll processing experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in related area.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now.
