Sr. Security Training Supervisor

Holtec Security International is currently seeking a Sr. Security Training Supervisor at Palisades Power Plant in Covert, Michigan.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for implementing the Security Training & Qualification Plan for security department operations at the station.
 
  • Maintains oversight of the Security Training program at the individual's site.
  • Responsible for the oversight of site Security Training Supervisors.
  • Responsible for providing instruction to all security personnel as required in the site T&Q Plan. Schedules training of Security Force Members. Develops and/or revise security lesson plans and training procedures.
  • Provides documentation of security training provided in required regulatory format. Maintains training records and files for security force members.
  • Conducts classroom and firing range training to security personnel. Maintains the security training facilities, to include the firing range. Conducts tactical training to security officers and supervisors in support of the site defensive strategy.
  • Ensures company's compliance with federal laws and regulatory requirements. Keeps appropriate company management personnel apprised of security training related activities and conditions. Maintains all required firearms and training certifications. Participates in security Force on Force training exercises as participant and controller. Provides back shift coverage in support of shift training activities and FOF exercises.



EDUCATION, LICENSES and CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED

The Sr Security Training Supervisor, in addition to having the appropriate technical and tactical mindset, must be able to instill public and regulatory confidence in this role, and maintain necessary skills and qualifications.
 
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years Security supervisory experience at an operating nuclear plant
  • Desired:  B.S. Degree in Criminal Justice, Engineering or other discipline generally associated with plant operations or equivalent work experience.
  • Desired:  Qualified with systematic approach to training (SAT) instructor
  • Desired:  Experience in developing lesson plans and classroom presentations
  • Desired:  Supervisory experience
  • Desired:  Minimum of two years as a security training instructor
  • Pass any State-required training or other qualifications for licensing.
  • Must possess a current and valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to obtain initial and maintain annual weapons qualifications.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain License to Carry (LTC).
  • If previously employed, meaningful and verifiable work history.

  • Demonstrate ability to understand and effectively react to situations of adversity with people and resolve them with tact, diplomacy, and courtesy.
