**Position Specific Description**
The Site Technical Services group is the first responder to emergent plant issues that are beyond the capabilities of Operations and/or Maintenance to resolve. This position will assist with and eventually lead complex troubleshooting, provide field support for the Failure Investigation Process, support emergent on-line and refueling outage work, resolve work week Engineering holds which may include development of parts equivalencies, small scope design change packages, and 10 CFR 50.59 /72.48 screenings, operability assessments or functionality determinations, and resolution of corrective actions. This position may be required to perform duties outside of normal business hours to support unit outages, emergent equipment issues or provide on-call support.
This position will be in the area of instrumentation and controls and will involve transmitters, scaling, tuning, primary and secondary control systems, reactor protection and engineered safeguards systems, nuclear instrumentation, radiation monitoring, instrumentation design and analysis including instrumentation uncertainty. Preferred qualifications or ability to obtain within six to twelve months include, design change, temporary modifications, digital design, design verification, calculations, 10 CFR 50.59/72.48, operability determination/functionality assessment, and cyber security assessor.
This position will be located at our NextEra Energy Pont Beach Nuclear Plant. We are seeking candidates with a bachelor’s or higher degree in Electrical Engineering as highly preferred.
Perform routine engineering assignments requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria. Apply standard engineering practices and techniques to specific engineering situations. Participate in the analysis and evaluation of engineering problems associated with assigned engineering discipline while developing and testing optimum solutions; evaluates data and recognizes discrepancies in results. Prepare and present reports summarizing results of technical evaluations and recommendations. Coordinate engineering activities with other engineering departments and with other company departments. May be required to perform duties and/or assume an assignment outside of normal job duties and requirements to support major outages, as necessary.

•Entry level. Comprehension of engineering principles, theory, and their application to power plant systems, components, and structures. Broad based knowledge of assigned engineering specialty.
•Candidates must satisfy all Company and Nuclear Regulatory Commission security requirements.
•Travel to support Fleet objectives and act as a member of the emergency response organization may be part of the requirements of this position.
•High School Diploma/GED required.
•Bachelor of Science in Engineering required.
•Professional Engineering license or ability to obtain license desired.
•Internship experience preferred.
