**Position Specific Description**
Responsible for evaluating data, initiating action, and providing recommendations for plant operation to ensure continued nuclear safety and long-term asset preservation.
• Utilize and maintain complex analytical instrumentation while verifying precision and accuracy via quality assurance and control methods.
• Perform quantitative and qualitative analyses including sampling, in-service testing or testing and measuring of radioactive contaminants and chemical properties of various liquid and gaseous streams in nuclear plant systems and components.
• Implement safe laboratory practices and ensure compliance with regulations, procedures, and policies in the conduct of daily work.
• Maintain records, evaluate trends, and develop new/more efficient methods.
• Train and provide guidance to new or less experienced nuclear chemistry technicians.
Employees in this role perform quantitative and qualitative chemistry and radiochemistry analyses.
**Job Duties & Responsibilities**
Under limited supervision:
+ Performs sampling, in-service testing or testing and measuring of radioactive contaminants and chemical properties of various liquid and gaseous streams in nuclear plant systems and components
+ Uses safe laboratory practices and ensures compliance with regulations, procedures and policies in conduct of daily work
+ Maintains records, evaluate trends and draft procedures
+ Performs other job-related duties as assigned
+ High School Grad / GED
+ Experience: 2+ years
