**Position Specific Description**

This role requires extensive knowledge in nondestructive examination (NDE) programs and processes used in nuclear applications. It is responsible for acting as the FPL Energy Seabrook Principal NDE Level III UT, VT, MT, PT. Responsible for the content of NDE training, examination/certification of qualified Level I, Level II, and Level Ill NDE personnel and maintaining master certification records for Nextera Energy Seabrook NDE personnel. Duties may also include responsibility for one or more or the following programs; Boric Acid Corrosion Control Program, Inservice Inspection Program, System Pressure Test Program, and Welding Program. Ensure that all assigned activities meet all regulatory and code requirements. Perform analyses in support of decision that are critical to plant operation and regulatory compliance. May also be assigned to ERO.

This job applies diversified engineering knowledge to a wide variety of assignments and work. Employees in this role prepare recommendations regarding complex engineering problems and use advanced engineering experience to practically apply theories, precepts, and practices to problems.

**Job Duties & Responsibilities**

+ Evaluates, monitors and conducts trend analyses related to the performance of nuclear systems

+ Troubleshoots systems, performs predictive and root cause analysis, and recommends solutions

+ Initiates corrective action programs and processes

+ Conducts and reviews systems surveillance

+ Designs, performs and verifies analysis of preventive maintenance programs of assigned systems

+ Performs other job-related duties as assigned

**Required Qualifications**

+ High School Grad / GED

+ Associate’s or Equivalent Experience

+ Experience: 7+ years

+ Nuclear Experience: 4+ years

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Bachelor’s – Engineering

**Special Requirements**

Nuclear Specific Requirements:

+ Associate’s in Engineering, Engineering Technology or related technical field or equivalent military training/experience

+ Engineering or related technical experience: eight (8+) years

+ Completion of approved industry training (e.g., EPRI, NACE, ASME) in area of expertise

+ Experience with engineering principles and theories as they relate to Engineering Technology and to power plant systems, components and structures

+ Experience developing standards, design and functional requirements

Nuclear Specific Preferences:

+ Bachelor’s in Engineering Technology or related technical discipline
