**Position Specific Description**
Additional duties & responsibilities for the role include:
+ Is accountable for implementing the station ALARA program through the activities of ALARA planning or application of effective ALARA techniques
+ Attend meetings representing Radiation Protection and ALARA and ensure the appropriate RP resources are properly scheduled
+ Tracking and monitoring RP metrics for CRE reduction including personnel exposure, industry metrics, and other plant parameters to ensure that the site maintains an appropriate focus on CRE
+ Assist Station Personnel to ensure work is properly scheduled to take advantage of ALARA controls
+ Perform in progress reviews and write ALARA packages as directed
+ Must be able to independently perform ALARA reviews and data analysis
+ Develop and present ALARA Review Board materials to station Senior Leadership Team
+ Excellent computer skills including knowledge of Access, Excel, and other software programs, as needed
+ Strong written and oral communication skills
**Job Overview**
Develop, implement, maintain, and report on radioactive waste control, and radiation monitoring of personnel, systems, effluent and environment. Ensures site compliance with applicable regulatory, site and fleet requirements regarding radiation safety. Performs work requiring application of conventional knowledge of radiation protection techniques, procedures, principles and criteria in carrying out a sequence of tasks. Applies standard technical expertise to projects and problems to develop and refine new approaches to programs and systems. Utilizes advanced techniques and the modifcation and extension of theories, concepts and practices. Ensure plant health physics and radiological conditions are within prescribed regulatory and operating limits and plant work activities are conducted in a manner that minimizes personnel radiation exposure and preserves plant system and equipment reliability. Responsibilities may include analyses, projects, procedure development, revision and review, assessments, performance improvement initiatives, and corrective action. Coordinates and directs the planning, development, and implementation of a variety of radiation protection projects. Analyze or coordinate the analysis of technical data to identify problems and solutions. Prepares studies and plans for projects having direct effect on nuclear safety, O&M, capital expenses and plant equipment. May provide technical direction to less experienced radiation protection personnel and function as project lead. Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

**Required Qualification**
+ Minimum of Associates degree in Health Physics, Radiological Safety, or related field or NRRPT certification and/or equivalent education experience. Individual experience in radiation protection and/or health physics in the nuclear industry, additional technical training in radiation protection and demonstrated leadership ability may be considered equivalent to degree requirement.
+ Minimum of three (3) years related health physics or radiation protection experience required in a nuclear facility.
+ Candidates must satisfy all Company and Nuclear Regulatory Commission security requirements.
+ Travel to support company objectives and act as a member of the Emergency Response Organization will be part of the requirements of this position.
**Preferred Qualification**
Bachelors or Masters degree in Radiation Protection, Health Physics or related field and three (3) years health physics or radiation protection experience in a nuclear facility.
