**Position Specific Description**
Under direct supervision, this job applies diversified knowledge of Environmental, Chemistry and engineering principles and practices to broad variety of assignments and related fields. Acts as a single point of contact for the assigned intern projects for the PTN Chemistry department. Develops knowledge and skills within a specific practice area. Evaluates, selects, and applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform a task or sequence of tasks for conventional projects with few complex features. Collaboratively uses judgment to determine adaptations in methods for non-routine aspects of assignments. Works on small projects or portions of larger projects. Supports daily PTN plant chemistry and environmental operations Conducts analysis on system performance and reliability strategy and provides recommendations. **Candidates must have cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher to be considered**
**Some of the responsibilities for our plant internships are listed below:**
+ Acquire knowledge of a combined cycle system operations through team interaction and self-directed training
+ Learn safe work practices at the plant and participate in hazard identification during pre-job briefs
+ Assigned to Supervisor to assist with developing the Environmental Best Management Practices manual
+ Apply knowledge to actual operating failure modes experienced in the fleet
+ Some Computer work on setting up chemical safety information
+ Support the validation of daily operating procedures
+ Participate in daily activities associated with the safe and reliable operation of the plant (including such items as: preventative maintenance routines, startup and shutdown activities)
+ Intern will work with the equipment on how to analyze and troubleshoot equipment problems
+ Conduct field walk-downs and mark-up as build documentation
+ Support six sigma quality projects and learn the tools

To be considered for an internship, you must be actively enrolled at a college or university as a full-time student seeking a bachelor’s degree or higher. You must also have a current cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher (on a 0.00 to 4.00 scale).

+ Presents final project to senior leadership at the end of the internship
+ Assumes responsibility for own travel, lodging, and transportation necessary to be available for the program
