A Brief Summary of This Position: The Water Delivery Manager will contribute to Valmont’s growing Water Delivery portfolio for Irrigation segment. Reporting to the Sr. Director- Global Water Delivery but working very closely with the North America Aftermarket Sales Manager. The position is responsible for coordinating growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction of the Valmont Irrigation Water Management (WM) products. The role will lead the regional Water Delivery assets in North America to support design/training and post-sales activities for Water Management and Valley Science and Engineering suite of products for the North America markets also align with the vision of driving reviews from the portfolio in the other potential international markets.  This position will also act as the center point for Sales, Marketing, Product Management and Design Engineering teams to support business growth utilizing the Aftermarket Sales Team (ATSM). The role will implement the global strategy and continually improve the action plan by also utilizing the current WM staff and engineering resources to deliver the growth. Essential Functions: This position will lead the North America Application Sales Team Create and implement business plans for delivering growth Travel within the assigned territory, for Business Development and leading technical sales support and training up to 25%Work with Aftermarket Sales Manager and the Marketing organization for customer insights and creating business growth Work with product management on new market products and be the voice of customers and competitive products Maintain market requirements, portfolio performance and growth potentials for North America region Make technical and product presentations to current and prospective customer on features and benefits Serve as the integrator between ATSM and Valmont’s engineering teams in problem solving and technical expertise Manage the execution of Turnkey Project design, costing, and proposals identifying synergies within the application engineering teams for pumping/ power/ technology/ solar Design, utilize and integrate Valley Irrigation products to create the most efficient project based on customer expectations Be involved with Engineering and Product Managers in product development changes and solutions to problems Log communication between dealerships and customers Use sound judgment and decisions to gain customer/dealer satisfaction, at the same time protecting the company’s interest Provide internal and external cross training and mentoring on WM products Assist in the managing of testing new items that are added to the product line of assigned specific Valley products Coordinate with Aftermarket Sales Manager to prepare weekly sales reports Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities): Preferred Bachelors with 6 years relevant experience or Associates Degree with 8 years relevant experience or 10 years of relevant experience A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point The ability to travel domestic/International up to 25% Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Agriculture Management/Engineering preferred Previous experience in electrical, pumping or automation/controls experience Professional work experience teaching or educating others on irrigation concepts Proficient with computers, radios systems, GPS, PLC, cellular and satellite communication Working Environment and Physical Efforts: Work is typically performed in an office setting, but there are frequent trips to grower’s fields and dealerships so a considerable amount of the week can be spent traveling to and from different venues. While doing field work, the incumbent will be exposed to dust, dirt, heat, cold, water, wind, oil and high voltage. The conditions will vary according to the assignment. While visiting any areas within the manufacturing facility the incumbent is required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to metatarsal footwear and side-shield safety glasses. The work environment can be demanding at times with harsh weather conditions and overtime needed during certain seasons of the year. Domestic travel represents up to 30% and international travel represents up to 10% of the yearly work schedule. The incumbent will need to be able to speak over the phone, in front of groups that include peers, professionals, and dealership personnel.
