The role will work with our global team of outstanding professionals, consultants and engineers to provide our clients expert, independent advice. We’ve been doing this since 1995 and are just as passionate today as we were when we started. The Role :

As a Junior SCADA/EMS Consultant, you will work with our clients, under the supervision of our senior staff, on projects and day to day tasks required to update and maintain complex real-time SCADA and Energy Management Systems.  You will develop approaches for maintaining the system operation, patching systems, upgrading applications and versions of the client real-time platforms.  You will work in a team of professionals at the client site to ensure all systems are functional and new deployments meet the clients’ functional requirements.

Key Accountabilities

  • Providing consultancy, project and support services
  • Working collaboratively with client, PSC and third-party team members
  • Participating and providing technical input at client and PSC technical meetings and discussions
  • Taking an active involvement in the ongoing improvement of processes and procedures

To be considered for this role applicants should meet the following requirements.

Candidates are strongly encouraged to apply if they do not exactly meet the requirements however have equivalent experience in a similar role.  

Minimum experience required

  • Degree qualification in relevant field (i.e. Electrical Engineering/Software/Computer Science)
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience pertaining to Operational Technology, SCADA, Control, and/or EMS/DMS software.
  • Exposure to SCADA modelling and telemetry protocols
  • Reading and interpreting single line diagrams (SLDs) and understanding of power system analysis.
  • Experience with relational database systems (i.e. SQL)
  • Excellent computer system skills, including competency with using and administering Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Familiarity with server hardware, virtualization, and networking 

Preferred experience

    • Programming experience in a procedural language (i.e. C/C++, Python, PERL, Java)
    • Experience with Factory or Site Acceptance Testing

    Attributes and Skills

      • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
      • Problem analysis, design, implementation, testing and documentation for energy management systems
      • Willingness to travel within Australia
