Position Mission:

Reporting to the Vice-President of Manufacturing, this critical role will provide hands-on leadership to create a high-performance work culture in critical logistics areas to include Purchasing, Inventory Management and Shipping & Receiving.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the acquisition of raw materials and finished goods to support manufacturing operations through direct vendor interface and leadership of an experienced purchasing team.
  • Develop streamlined operating procedures for purchasing, shipping/receiving and inventory management.
  • Create a coaching and developmental culture within assigned areas to ensure maximum staff versatility, work output and employee engagement.
  • Develop or refine key performance indicators (KPIs) for assigned areas as part of an objective to develop high performance work teams.
  • Establish and oversee systematic inventory management practices with an objective to maintain optimal raw materials and parts in stock to meet the changing demands of the manufacturing team.
  • Foster a process improvement mindset within assigned teams complete with recognition practices for noteworthy accomplishments.
  • Interface with senior manufacturing leadership personnel to ensure material planning success.
  • Actively manage large vendor relationships to maximize capabilities and achieve optimal cost savings.

  • A minimum of 10-12 years of successful leadership experience in a purchasing and inventory management role within an industrial organization is strongly preferred.
  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record in developing a culture of cost savings and streamlined operations.
  • Intermediate level competency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent coaching and employee development track record in previous managerial assignments.
