Role Summary:

This is a great opportunity to join a solid and growing organisation. We have multiple offices within Australia and we have been working in a distributed fashion for years. We'd prefer you are located in Brisbane, or Melbourne, but we are open to hybrid work. There may also be limited travel to our other Australia and New Zealand offices, and international travel once a year for our global team to meet up in person. 

We are growing quickly and we expect our headcount to double in the next 3 years, we have even more ambitions plans for the next 10 years. To support this growth we need a really strong Senior HR Business Partner who can drive strategy, effect change and keep us on track for the future. 

It's essential that you are a self starter who is able to drive to get things done and work autonomously, as well as working collaboratively as part of the wider People team. You will provide overall strategic and change management support to our APAC region (currently approx. 150 employees across Australia, New Zealand and Singapore). The scope of this role includes: strategic support to the MD, GM’s and other leaders in region, in order to facilitate the overall strategy of the company, managing all elements of the employee life cycle in partnership with other HR team members, compensation, benefits, professional development programs in partnership with our Global Learning and Development Manager, oversee visa and work permits, employee relations, etc. This role reports to the Global Head of People (based in the USA) with a dotted-line to the Managing Director and works with the HR & Talent Acquisition teams and the APAC management team to ensure alignment with the overall mission, strategy, and culture.

The full people team consists of Senior (generalist) HRBPs and Talent Acquisition support in each region, and we have global L&D Manager and an HR Ops specialist. There are 11 of us in total. 


  • Have a minimum of eight (8) years of professional HR experience with increasing levels of responsibility – starting as generalist and moving into Change Management. 
  • Have worked with Engineers, Scientists or in a Professional Services Environment. 
  • Are innately curious, enjoy learning new things, and given your global reach, aren’t afraid to ask questions.
  • Have excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Are excited about having a direct impact on the business.
  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources Management, or a related field.
  • Are a Certified HR professional, CPHR or FCPHR.
  • Are software savvy, adept at using HRIS systems, LMS, strong MS Office skills. 
  • Can demonstrate knowledge and applications of HR disciplines, to include employment law, benefit administration, compensation management, employee relations, organisational and change management initiatives.
  • Are able to deal effectively with ambiguity and change, while driving for results and balancing multiple priorities.
  • Have strong and proactive interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills, with strict adherence to confidentiality in all aspects of this role.
  • Have great business and people acumen, with a focus on positive customer service attitude.
  • Are a self-managing, independent problem solver with high attention to detail.
  • Are legally authorised to work in Australia without sponsorship of any type.
  • Are happy to adopt flexible working hours (evenings / early mornings) on occasion as required to accommodate global meetings or special assignments. This does not mean working extra hours to fit in these meetings, we are very flexible about when you work your hours!
