JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

Provides oversight of implementation of capital and O&M projects.   

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures projects achieve stated objectives, meet established schedules and are completed within approved authorizations and budgets. Ensures projects are implemented in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures. Develops and maintains tools to improve the efficiency of performing project work.
  • Performs project cost and cash flow forecast. Supervises the project installation and inspection activities.
  • Reviews and evaluates performance of the project staff and contractors.
  • Oversees procedures and documentation which govern and control project activities. Proposes project changes which improve efficiency and safety. Interfaces with regulatory and industry representatives on behalf of project activities.
  • Recommends necessary project training, as required. Review project manager work assignments to ensure the staff is responding appropriately to department and organizational needs.
  • Negotiate with venders to acquire parts and services. Coordinates activities to minimize plant and system downtime and maximize plant power generation. 
  • Communicates technical information, concepts, and ideas verbally and in writing. Serves as a member of the Emergency Response Organization.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education required of the position

B.S. degree in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline or equivalent experience.

Minimum experience required of the position

15 years experience in nuclear power design, construction, maintenance, project management, Production, or equivalent. At least 5 years experience in the maintenance, engineering, project management or Production organization.

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position

Technical proficiency in project management. Technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operation. Outstanding communication, conflict management, and change management skills. Proficiency with current computer business applications

Any certificates, licenses, etc., required for the position

Desired: PMP certification SRO License or certification on a BWR or PWR, Professional engineering license.
