Position Summary:
Marathon Petroleum’s Internal Audit Department provides independent and objective assessments to determine whether all significant risks are identified and appropriately reported to the Board and Executive Management, to evaluate whether risks are adequately controlled, and to improve the efficiency of governance processes, risk management, and internal controls.
We are currently looking for an IT Auditor, who would primarily be responsible for performing infrastructure audits. The IT Audit team is responsible for the high-quality execution of IT infrastructure, application, and project audits. Infrastructure audits focus on systems and technology that support and secure MPC’s and MPLX’s applications, with a focus on areas such as cybersecurity, computer applications, technology infrastructure, and systems development disciplines. Technology infrastructure can include Windows, UNIX, VMWare ESX, SQL, Oracle, SAP, business, and process control networks.
Application audits focus on automated functionality and data integrity that support business processes such as segregation of duties, configuration management, system interfaces, and data processing. The application systems may include financial Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) control testing and regulatory compliance reviews for MPC and MPLX. Project audits are assessments over key initiatives to figure out whether intended business objectives were met and to identify risks or issues early.
Reporting to an IT Audit Manager, the IT auditor will have responsibility for assisting in the independent and objective assurance activity designed to improve the organization’s operations and compliance with key regulations by evaluating and improving the efficiency of risk management, control, and governance processes specifically around the company’s IT infrastructure, operations, and security programs.
