Job Purpose
Executes all refurbishment, modification, and rework to update industrial gas turbine packages to customer expectations. Applies extensive knowledge in related fields, conforms to all safety, environmental and electrical standards in refurbishing packages. Trains lower-level employees in all aspects of technical work.

NATURE AND SCOPE:

Working with a broad base of mechanical, electronic, hydraulic, and executes activities required to complete refurbishment committed to customers, on time schedules. Works with limited supervision, may lead others. Utilizes a variety of documentation to discern instructions. Operates all necessary shop equipment, bench tools, hand tools and inspection equipment.

Assignments include but are not limited to the following:

1.Tearing down packages, detecting refurbishment needs based on the condition of parts, making final changes to the work estimates in consulting with engineers.

2. Be able to work with a set of engineering prints / 3D models to build a sub assembly module for package refurbishments / package retrofits. Learn and performing duties related to the small component’s assembly.

3. Applies increasing knowledge base of electronics to assemble package controls, referring to specification sheets and engineering drawings to update old systems with the new technology.

4. Applies increasing knowledge of mechanical assembly to work package parts, per customer requirements.

5. All other tasks related to the delivery of turbomachinery refurbishment packages to comply with customer needs, on committed schedules, including small component assignments; welding preparations, etc.
6. Extensive working knowledge of tools such as wrenches, drills, etc.
7. Be able to read and understand a set of Solar drawings in order to build a package to engineering specifications.

8. Provide technical and administrative leadership to a team or department of employees.
9. Follow Quality Assurance standard processes to build the highest quality product.
10. Follow all shop safety practices and procedures.
11. Help develop / mentor new employees in the work group.


QUALIFICATIONS

Must be willing to work in a safe team-oriented environment and to train others in related skills. Requires completion of formal training program in gas turbine engine maintenance, refurbishment, overhaul, or specialized training in one particular area, such as electronics, welding, or the equivalent in work experience. In addition to training, must demonstrate abilities derived from at least three years of related technical assignments. Solid working knowledge of all related tools and equipment. Knowledge of all safety and environment restrictions affecting the facility.
