The Hitachi Energy India Development Centre (IDC) is the Research and Development centre with around 500 R&D engineers, specialists and experts who focus on developing, maintaining - Technology, Products, Digital solutions including product integration, testing, cybersecurity and certification. The India Development Centre is in Chennai and Bangalore which includes various product test labs spread over 20000 Sq.ft.

Mission Statement:

Follow technology trends within power system protection and control application area by monitoring/attending workshops/seminars.

Your Responsibilities:

Ownership of the main application technology to cover protection and control of the entire power system filed.

Responsibility to be involved and drive toward a solution for application issues or customer related issues.

Responsibility to review technical descriptions, user documentation and make sure that the quality is granted.

Your Background:

  • Master-/PhD- degree of science or other relevant
  • Power system protection and control application functions
  • Programming, C-language coding
  • IEC standards and standardization
  • MATLAB/Simulink knowledge
  • Relay protection equipment.
  • Testing methods
  • Implementing power system protection and control algorithms (AFL) to fulfill the requirement criterion for different utility customers.
  • Participate in AFL Change Control Board (CCB) for AFL related issues.
  • Participate in quality assessment for project & process.
  • Take active part in requirement development team (RDT). Ensure that requirements are analyzed.
  • Ensure breakdown of requirements and participate in, or delegate, work for System Implementation Proposals.
  • Ensure that new requirements are created based on input from Technology Roadmap.
  • Keep up with standards relevant for application development and verification.
  • Follow technology trends within power system protection and control application area by monitoring/attending workshops/seminars.
  • Drive/participate in research activities with ABB Corporate Research Centre.
  • Create document/presentation on AFL technology roadmap.
  • Find and investigate technology solutions for new application technologies.
  • Ensure that technology solutions are prototyped and tested.
  • Participate in AFL process development.
  • Be active to drive and lead a small team to resolve customer issues or drive a technology solution.
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
