Job Purpose
This position is responsible for the complete operation of the company-owned vessel, insuring that all sailing's are conducted in a legal, safe and reliable manner and including day-to-day operation and maintenance of the vessel (100ft)

NATURE AND SCOPE:

The incumbent reports to the Director, Marketing. Reporting to this position are one Co-Captain/Ship's Engineer and up to five part-time Service Employees.

The responsibility of the incumbent/function is to operate the company-owned vessel in a legal, safe and reliable manner in such a manner to fully support the entertainment value of the company-owned vessel, thus assisting in obtaining company goals. Further, the company-owned vessel will likewise and similarly be operated for employee business functions and approved charity cruises.

The position is subject to the responsibilities of U. S. Maritime Law and shall maintain at all times a Certificate from the U. S. Coast Guard attesting to a U. S.

Merchant Marine Officer Rating of Master, 100 tons or above required.

Further, in addition to five or more years of experience, the position requires other marine proficiencies; including, but not limited to:

First Aid/CPR Training
Marine Radio License
Radar Observer Certification
Marine Fire Fighting Certification
SCUBA Certification

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Assume full responsibility as Captain for the operation of the company-owned vessel.

Operate the company-owned vessel in a legal, safe and reliable manner; representing the company to customers and guests in a professional manner, ensuring their enjoyment and satisfaction while on-board.

Direct and supervise all crew members, including the C-Captain/Ship's Engineer, in both operational and maintenance duties and schedule such assigned duties to so as to ensure the crew performs same in a friendly and efficient manner.

Ensure that compliance with all applicable bodies of law regarding both the condition and operation of the company-owned vessel are followed.

Assume full responsibility for the day-to-day maintenance and repair of the company-owned vessel; including recommendations for major refits, including contractors and suppliers to be used, ensuring maximum safety and reliability of operation for both guests and crew.

Review and approve all day-to-day expenditures associated with the operation and maintenance of the company-owned vessel, ensuring efficient and reasonable results.

Summary Pay Range:

$79,680.00 - $119,520.00
