Job Summary

The Senior HR Consultant - Talent Planning and Engagement will execute Talent (Human Resources) initiatives to support leaders and teammates, playing a key role in helping them achieve their strategic objectives. This role will help optimize the employee experience through creation of new and enhancement of existing talent programs and initiatives to effectively engage and develop an inclusive and diverse workforce. This role partners with Strategic HR Business Partners to implement and maintain a talent agenda and set priorities that drive leader, team, and organization effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Supports large Talent Management and Organizational Effectiveness efforts such as high potential identification, engagement, and culture.
  • Acts as a thought partner with HRBPs and HR Directors in the planning and implementation of talent strategies and programs.
  • Provides insight on succession depth, successor readiness for senior level critical roles, top talent movement and retention, as well as insights on a variety of strategic priorities.
  • Enables systems and reporting that support the processes owned by the Talent Management & Engagement COE.
  • Builds and maintains Talent dashboards (Power BI, Excel).
  • Responsible for operationalizing and implementing talent projects and programs.
  • Provides analysis and support of talent discussions at the senior leadership and Board levels.
  • Works closely with key stakeholders to develop a keen understanding of business needs in order to create and implement seamlessly integrated talent solutions.
  • Owns the enterprise 360 leadership assessment process, including vendor management.
  • Ensures that there is on-going two-way communication and feedback in the management of assigned projects and programs.
  • Works to understand talent needs as they relate to business strategies, and partners with Strategic HR Business Partners to maximize strategic investment in the development and retention of internal talent, including monitoring key performance metrics to ensure success.
  • Supports numerous projects related to key talent, engagement, executive assessment & development, and organizational effectiveness initiatives.
  • Acts as an ambassador to the company culture, ensuring our programs are driving the behaviors we value as a company. Ensuring all programs implemented have elements that will continually evolve values for inclusivity and a workforce that reflects the diversity of our internal and external customers.

Required/Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • In addition to bachelor's degree, three (3) years minimum of related work experience
  • In lieu of bachelor's degree AND three (3) years minimum of related work experience listed above, high school diploma/GED AND nine (9) years minimum of related work experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated advanced Excel skills in working in large files, creating macros, utilizing lookups & pivot tables, and strong data manipulations skills
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills required to analyze complex issues, develop logical conclusions and make appropriate recommendations
  • Demonstrated experience presenting analyses and recommendations to non-technical audiences
  • Prior experience in the HR space, specifically business partner, learning & organizational development, or HR generalist
  • Demonstrated understanding of the principles of employee engagement through managing employee engagement surveys and / or developing post-survey action planning programs
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple projects and serve as an effective project lead
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree
  • PHR or SPHR certification
  • Demonstrated ability in creating internal marketing plans to raise awareness of the function and our initiatives
  • Experience in creating, delivering, and evaluating programs centered around Diversity and Inclusion
  • Experience in a corporate or consulting environment
  • Demonstrated effective leadership and / or supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated ability of effective negotiating skills when dealing with diverse customer expectations
  • Demonstrated presentation skills and ability to facilitate large/small groups in an effective manner
  • Effective interpersonal skills, e.g. collaboration and active listening skills
  • Ability to effectively influence at all levels, including executives
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices
  • Ability to manage through difficult conversations while maintaining partnerships and reaching an optimal solution

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid mobility classification - work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable commute to a Duke Energy facility.
