Job Description:

Your responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will be part of an R&D Team specialized in the Technology development of Power Transformers.
  • Drives for product cost-out activities through appropriate design actions on Transformers.
  • Possessing knowledge of Indian and International Standards & Codes – IEC, IEEE, BIS, DIN, ISO for electrical design-related aspects of power transformers and shunt reactors.
  • Perform Designs activities oriented mainly to R&D and design of special transformers.
  • Works on standardizing schematics and supports R&D / manufacturing engineering projects.
  • Running verifications using 3D simulation tools (Dielectric/Electromagnetic/Thermal) to simulate different behaviours of the power transformers.
  • Perform testing of design platforms before the release for production.
  • Become local technical referent for Troubleshooting, Analysing failures.
  • Document all activities, data, and information in line with procedures.
  • Perform design platform testing before the release for production.

Your background:

  • B.Tech./M.Tech. (Mechanical or Electrical). - Design & development of high voltage switchgear (5 to 10 years).
  • Basic knowledge of switchgear product. - Hands-on experience in mechanism design & simulation.
  • Knowledge and understanding of high-voltage products are desirable.
  • knowledge and understanding of various IEC / IEEE / ANSI / IS / ISO / DIN / IP / NEMA standards.
  • Hands-on experience in FEA tools – Ansys, Creo Simulate, Creo Mechanism.
  • Working knowledge of design process/quality tools like DFMEA, DFM, DFA, DMAIC, DOE, etc.
  • Solid hands-on experience with 3D model/PLM tools like Creo 4.0, Windchill, and SAP.
  • Excellent hands-on experience in drawing, BOM, GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • Knowledge of product change management process. - Manufacturing knowledge (casting, machining, forging, welding, bending, injection molding etc.).
  • Ability to work in a global environment. - Innovative & creative thinking ability.
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
