THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN FRENCH GUIANA


Voltalia develops power plant projects based on renewable energies, in particular biomass.

As part of the development of new projects, the engineering department Biomass, Centre of Expertise (CoE), was created within Voltalia in 2019.

 
The Biomass CoE provides technical support to the various teams: Project Development (DEV), Construction (EPC), Operations (O&M) and Asset owners (IPP).

 
Its role is to have a global vision of biomass projects and to collect feedback in order to improve existing, under construction and planned power plants.

 


The mission of the future employee will be to support the IPP and O&M managers in the operational follow-up of the biomass plants and the commissioning of new plants in French Guiana.

 

He/she will work in the Biomass Coordinator's team. He/she will contribute to maximizing the efficiency, availability and reducing the emissions of the biomass plants.

 

The tasks will be very field oriented and include the following :

 

  • He/she will be responsible for monitoring the parameters of the plants in operation (production, fuel consumption, electricity consumption, water and chemical consumption, chemical analysis of process fluids, etc.).
  • Analyzing the parameters of the power plants, particularly during trips or deviations, in order to establish the root cause of the incident
  • Checking the transcription of maintenance plans in the O&M monitoring tool (Fiix)

 

 

  • Monitoring and analysis of measurements (portable smoke analyzer, ultrasound device for measuring boiler thickness during shutdowns, inspection of electrical cabinets and insulation by infrared thermography, etc.)
  • Inspections during scheduled or unplanned technical shutdowns (issuing of reports and advanced technical analyses)
  • Implementation of analysis for preventive maintenance (vibration or ultrasound analysis)
  • Support in monitoring the compliance of the plants and in carrying out the mandatory services with a control office (atmospheric emissions, quality of aqueous discharges, requalification of ESP, etc.)
  • Advice to IPP on improving biomass plants
  • Promote improvement procedures and best practices among employees: organize the capitalization of feedback, provide advice to operators, carry out training

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • University or engineering school. Generalist or specialised training in renewable energy, thermodynamics or electricity.
  • At least a first significant professional experience in an installation producing steam or superheated water.
  • Must have a driving licence
