The Financial Reporting Accountant requires timeline management and awareness of process schedules. This position functions as an integral part of the GFS team that ensures the monthly consolidation process remains on schedule, and that Solar is compliant with deadlines set by Caterpillar.

Key Activities:

  • Develop advanced understanding of Solar's financial systems

  • Develop understanding of Caterpillar's financial systems and how Solar financial data is communicated to Caterpillar

  • Act as a liaison between Solar and Caterpillar, regularly communicating with various Caterpillar teams like Corporate Consolidations, Corporate Tax, SEC team, etc

  • Submit/TCON results to Caterpillar each month

  • Coordinate monthly reviews to analyze financial results with GFS Director and Consolidations Manager

  • Administer quarterly disclosure reporting and accrual maintenance

  • Support Tax, and Internal/External auditors with legal entity reporting and ad hoc inquiries

  • Manage annual and quarterly reporting on economic surveys

Many activities for this position are not comparable to others within GFS or Solar, giving a unique experience at the Staff Accountant I level.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:

  • Requires a bachelor's level degree, preferably in accounting.

  • Must demonstrate initiative, leadership, and the ability to effectively communicate.

  • 1-2 years of accounting experience is required.

Summary Pay Range:

$87,456.00 - $131,184.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
