Position Summary:

L&S Terminals is seeking a highly motivated individual to perform and champion safe and reliable operations at all terminal locations by supporting the development and implementation of effective management systems designed to improve human performance. They will develop and provide necessary tools, training, and work processes to effectively plan and safely implement operations and project field work. The Operations Specialist home location will be in Mt. Airy LA Terminal office. This role will also support other terminal locations as assigned by leadership.

Key responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop, and draft energy isolation plans to ensure the safe execution of project of and maintenance work.

  • Develop, update, and manage procedures, policies, standards, and other documents to assure compliance and conformance with company policy. Review these documents and make necessary updates to them as appropriate.

  • Lead field-based operations audits at assigned terminals.

  • Support the Management of Change (MOC) process by completing reviews and updates.

  • Lead in the development of project work plans, such as CDRs. Serve as the point person for Terminals for energy isolation questions and concerns.

  • Visit area terminals regularly to facilitate discussions and acceptance of approved processes and standards. Serve as champion of change within their Area.

  • Facilitate the sharing of learning findings to Operations. Participate in incident investigations when appropriate.

  • Support emergency response efforts by being involved in the ICS structure to support Operations.

  • Participate on teams and special assignments as assigned by leadership.

Education and Experience:

  • A High School Diploma/GED is required. A bachelor’s degree is preferred.

  • 5+ years in field-based Operations is preferred.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.

  • Ability to utilize Microsoft applications, business applications, procedure writing applications and documents management systems is strongly preferred

  • Availability to work after hours as necessary to support Operations if needed.

  • Overnight Travel: 20-30%.

  • Valid Driver's License required

  • Successful candidate will be required to obtain a TWIC card.
