ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1) Receive, check, inspect for breakage and apparent defects; identify, count, weigh, sort, store and issue new, returned and reclaimed stores material, tools, supplies and equipment from all sources in accordance with specified procedures and complete related papers; make recommendations and suggestions for improvement.

2) Operate material handling equipment such as overhead crane, lift trucks, automotive and other stores equipment as assigned.

3) Perform physical inventories of material and supplies, capitalized spare parts, tools and exempt material as assigned.

4) Load, unload, pack, unpack, stock, move, count, weigh, sort and arrange equipment, tools and supplies in bins, shelves and storage areas.

6) Prepare stores documents as required with accurate and appropriate data.

7) Drive company vehicles and pickup and deliver freight, express, parcel post, supplies, material and equipment from and to manufacturers, dealers, agencies and other company locations.

8) Maintain equipment, tools and work area in a clean, orderly and safe condition.

9) Perform all duties in accordance with company's safety rules, operating regulations and practices and report unsafe conditions and practices.

10) Train for and carry out assignments in firefighting, first aid, and other emergency response programs as required.

11) Report irregularities and abnormal conditions to the appropriate supervision.

12) Assist employees as required.

13) Assist in performing necessary stores quality control functions as required.

14) Perform similar or less skilled work.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Stores Attendant - Jr.:

Education requirements are listed below: High School Degree or equivalent education (GED).

Work Experience requirement listed below: Through a combination of education and/or experience, must have sufficient knowledge and skills to perform the duties and/or responsibilities listed above, and also have the physical capabilities to perform the required work. A minimum of one year work experience in inventory control and management, material handling, warehousing, or related experience is required.

Must possess basic computer skills to use inventory management software such as Maximo; Microsoft Excel and Word experience is also preferred. Must have sufficient knowledge and skills to perform the duties and/or responsibilities listed above, and also have the physical capabilities to perform the required work. Must possess a strong working knowledge of logistics related to shipping and relocating inventory. Must understand and perform basic math functions. Must be able to work independently and possess good communication skills. Must be able to safely lift up to 70 pounds; successful completion of the Physical Ability Test (PAT) is required. Must possess the appropriate State drive license. If a Commercial Drive License (CDL) is required, the incumbent must obtain the CDL within six months of entry into this job classification or vacate the current job classification. Must be able to operate material handling equipment including motorized forklifts and road vehicles.

Stores Attendant:

High School Degree or equivalent education (GED). Must be able to pass an examination, if required, and in addition: Must have a minimum of eighteen months or 3,120 hours of experience as a Stores Attendant-Jr or equivalent. Through a combination of education and/or experience, must have sufficient knowledge and skills to perform the duties and/or responsibilities listed above, and also have the physical capabilities to perform the required work. Must have mechanical aptitude. Ability to write legibly and record accurately. Must understand and perform basic math functions. Must possess the appropriate State driver's license.
